Curriculum Overview
At St. Thomas More, we pride ourselves on providing a balanced educational foundation combined with a spiritual and faith-based component. In addition to teaching the core grade level standards, our goal is to inspire our students to have a life-long love of learning and to instill confidence and courage for them to succeed in high school and beyond. St. Thomas More School is structured with one class per grade from TK-8th. The lower teacher to student ratio allows our teachers to create stronger connections with each student while focusing on the individual needs of the whole-child. Additionally, there are teacher's aides in TK-3rd grades to support the teacher and assist with managing the classroom.
St. Thomas More’s curriculum is based on the Archdiocesan Guidelines, California State Standards, and our School-wide Learning Expectations. Students receive instruction in these following core subjects from TK-8th grade: mathematics, English language arts, social studies, religion, art, technology, visual and performing arts. For students who have a range of learning capabilities, our Learning Resource Specialists work with classroom teachers to provide students with the necessary tailored support they need.
