The Learning Support Program (LSP) at St. Thomas More works collaboratively with classroom teachers in grades kindergarten through third grade to give additional instruction to students who need extra support with reading skills including decoding, fluency, and comprehension. LSP students are taught in small-groups alongside their classmates by one of the school's learning specialists.
The Learning Support Program underpins the school's philosophy of intervening as soon as possible to support students whose progress with reading is not meeting grade-level expectations. The LSP is one example of how instruction at St. Thomas More is tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
LSP currently provides academic and reading support to 32 students and meets twice per week. There is no charge for LSP, this is a free resource for families.
